Adding HTML5 capabilities to UCM

There has been a lot of buzz about HTML5 recently.
We wanted to find out how we can take advantage of HTML5 to improve bread'n butter business applications like the Universal Contact Manager.
While fixing bugs and steadily increasing the number of beta testers of the app we've implemented a first sketch of HTML5 database support.
As only Opera and Safari properly support HTML5 databases out of the shelf we've also integrated Gears support to provide these features to users of Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome.
The first results are very promising as it not only speeds up the contact search but also will offer additional search and sort capabilities like full text search etc.
We expect to be able to make the new version available mid of next week. Stay tuned!
